Shenzhen – Another edition of the Shenzhen International industrial Design Fair – SZIDF has now come to an end. We couldn’t be happier for the number of visitors and the excitement we perceived these days at the crowded Shenzhen Exhibition Center. This seventh edition of the fair truly kept its promise, putting this successful format on track to becoming one of the major design events on a global scale, not just in Asia where it is already ranking No.1. In fact, we are very proud to be strategic partners of SIDA (Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association) and we look forward to establishing an even stronger cooperation and close synergy between our respective platforms and markets in the near future.
This-year edition had a really interesting theme, “Redesign • Reconnect”, which was interpreted in so many different ways and instances across the various exhibitors, including ourselves. At our stand, in addition to representing our entire Community, we were so glad to host the winner of SZIDF 2019 Gadget Design Award, Yu Ito.
Desall was met with very great enthusiasm both by designers and design students from mainland China and by various companies based in the Shenzhen hinterland and in the greater region. Shenzhen is really a great hub to enter the Asian market and we look forward to making our way even further into this region.
Yu Ito also received an amazing exposure both during the official awarding ceremony (he was given “the GREAT One” award and presented on stage), on the catalogue, the channeled communication efforts of SIDA and at the stand, where he proudly kept his trophy along various exhibitions he managed to bring from the States and from Tokyo.
Now that we’re coming back home, we are so thankful for this experience and we are definitely going to miss the excitement and the energy that only in Shenzhen you can feel. See you next year!
