We’re very excited to announce that another product designed on Desall has received a prestigious international design award. This time is for Carmine Scotch, a California based designer who joined our Community long ago and ever since has participated in many design competitions, including the one that opened the way to this great achievement.
In fact, his metal bookcase, “Waveform” designed for Off the wall, the contest launched in collaboration with Mabele, was assigned the Silver A’ Design Award for its unique shape and modularity. The project by Carmine Scotch truly represented the values of the company that was looking for an ornamental bookcase made of steel, easily producible and with great aesthetic value. Soon after winning the contest with the third award, the bookcase was realised, launched on the market and presented at various international trade show (see story).
Inspired by the undulating waves of the sea, Waveform was created to represent the subtle movement of form in a curvilinear interpretation of motion.
Many congratulations to Carmine for this great piece of design. We’ll keep you informed about any further update.
