Please welcome the winner of New life for fibres!
The international call for entries was launched by dtb FIBRE to find new applications for their semi-finished textile products, exploring different sectors and opportunities for their products in fields other than yarn making or similar. The challenge was pretty tough, as it really required participants to think outside the box and look at the starting material from a new perspective. Also, marketability and feasibility played a very key role in this challenge, inviting participants to weigh the new benefits against the esteemed costs for implementation.
As expected, the project appealed to participants across various industries and coming from different backgrounds, including designers, students, inventors, engineers and artists. Participation also proved international involving 20 countries, with Italy, India, United States, Spain, Algeria and Russia in the top positions for number of participants.
