Winner Announced for Alea Urban Ecopoint Modules Competition.
The Alea Urban Ecopoint competition, organised by Desall and Alea Ambiente, invited participants to design a new ecopoint dedicated to recycling containers for urban waste collection. Alea Ambiente, a fully public waste management company, needed a new design for its fixed ecopoints that would better fit into the urban or rural context and take into account the principles of circular economy and environmental sustainability. The new ecopoint was to be made of modular structures to accommodate and protect the containers for separate waste collection and had to be customisable in size and configuration. Designers were asked to consider production costs, modern aesthetics and environmental context in their designs.
Participants submitted 45 concepts and the brief was read in 110 countries on 5 continents. Without further ado, let’s meet the contest winner!
