Time to announce the winner of Smart Telecare HUB, the open design and innovation contest launched in collaboration with Urmet ATE.
Contestants were invited to design a device for remote-assistance that could work as a hub to connect various sensors and activators inside the house, to offer a comprehensive and reliable system for safeguarding the entire family. The hub was supposed to be equipped with various elements, including a PCB, a speaker, some light indicators, etc. A further element to design was a wearable remote able to activate an emergency call when needed.
From a design perspective, there were several challenges to face: in addition to creating a functional and practical device that could accommodate all the required elements and offer a streamlined user experience, designers had also to succeed in creating a captivating yet discreet product, that may appeal to the current target, while being ready for a future enrichment of the offer.
