Another winner announcement that marks the end of a very interesting contest sponsored by Chicco for the research of an innovative system to help parents and babies get on well together at home for their relax. R-Evolutionary baby design received 103 entries by 97 participants, a very good number given the great complexity of the brief.

On the whole, many were the great ideas developed for the contest. It is so much so that this contest brings with it some unexpected pleasant news…


But first let’s pay tribute to the idea that made it into the final pick of the Chicco panel.

With respect to other projects, HUG SYSTEM appears to be a very extensive and comprehensive project, which is really coherent with the brief looking for multi-functional and evolutionary projects. It is clear that behind the idea lies an extensive and thorough research on the mothers’ needs. Also it is consistent with the Chicco brand and with the INDOOR category for which we had decided to research innovative solutions. – Chicco Team

HUG is an innovative multifunctional system for a daily routine at home that adapts to the specific activities of a baby and provides extensive mobility for the mother keeping her healthy during the baby care period.
HUG multi-system consist of the two objects: movable height adjustable HUGLER and light mobile HUGNEST. Together they help to reduce the number of baby liftings during the day and unload the mother’s back keeping her in good health.

Following the needs of a modern mother and her baby the HUG multi-system makes the motherhood easier and allows to enjoy many happy moments of the day.

Suitable for newborns up to 24 months.

So what’s the big news? Not only did Chicco select two Special Mentions but also decided to start an exclusive second phase with the selected designers to develop further their projects! More awards of course will be at stake!

This projects stood out for its innovative concept and for the strong adherence to a trend which keep growing. – Chicco Team

Multi Mat is a piece of baby furniture that can be adapted to suit any moment. Whether it be for play, sleep, bonding, interacting or simply relaxing, the Multi Mat is there to help the mother and child move seamlessly throughout their day. The parent can simply fold to a configuration that suits the occasion.
Multi Mat has numerous sensory outputs that engage the baby, through soft textures for touch, through sound for song or storytelling, and through visual animated lighting.

Of this project, we most liked its simplicity of execution and the fact that it addresses a need which is not yet fully satisfied by any product available on the market. – Chicco Team

This product is reported to children from 0-12 months. We can use it in different situations. His properties are:
1- cradle
2- space game
3- bending it, it’s easier to transport
4- bag
