Time to announce the winner of Modular Bookcase Design, the international call for entries launched in collaboration with Metalmeccanica Alba for the AlbaComponents brand.

All participants were invited to submit innovative ideas for a modular and combinable bookcase that could easily fit various contexts, from the workplace to a retail store among others.
In terms of aesthetics, the brand was looking for a modern, minimal, technical style, very attentive to details. Surely your response was up to the expectations with +250 projects from around the world, with designers based on over 40 different countries.

We’re very glad now to announce not just the winner, but – given the high quality of the submissions received for the contest – Metalmeccanica Alba has also decided to officially acknowledge two extra projects as Special Mentions.

So, please meet…

THE WINNER

Benjamin Koren

My name is Benjamin Koren and I am an architect from Slovenia with a passion for product and graphic design.
I am the co-founder of the FRAMELESS Studio, a multidisciplinary agency working in the field of product development, crowdfunding campaigning, marketing and production.
My belief is that design is more than creating an object. It is a journey that requires different abilities along the way: Curiosity to understand why things are the way they are; empathy to uncover unmet needs; creativity to explore new concepts, forms and approaches; discipline to drive continual refinement; and-most important of all-personal commitment to
creating unique experience for the consumer.

My name is Veronika Antoniazzi, during 2006 I graduated in design at the Academy of Fine Arts G.B.Cignaroli of Verona.
I worked in an architectural office for few years, here I cut my teeth in interior design and 3d graphic. Currently I am working as a freelance in product design, 3d graphic and visual design.
In 2009 I created “Officina41 Industrial Design Group” with the architect Denis Peretti. This collaboration is born with the aim to create shapes that combine both creative inspiration and functional effectiveness. Our design philosophy is based on the essential link between the imaginative side of design and the reality of material techniques.
