Italcementi has just disclosed the name of the winner for Concrete in Design! And there are also a couple of special mentions that caught the interest of the jury.

During the contest #CONCRETE IN DESIGN is presented OMAGGIO ALL ‘ARTIGIANO , TRIBUTE TO CRAFTSMAN. The project emphasizes the importance of the craftsman, not only as a person with their own activities, but particularly as a custodian of the culture of his art. A true full-time worker, an example of the discipline’s operator. It is proposed to create and place objects at the center of the tables of the best restaurants. Lunch or dinner will be the ideal setting to call attention to the subject with sobriety, stimulating memories and thoughts. The objects are monuments to the arts, but you can also define a table centerpiece. The construction involves the use of the innovative Effix DESIGN sponsored by Italcementi as a material, and the use of Laura Polinoro’s models with Luca Galbusera’s textures. The four texture proposals represent four of the many craft disciplines: the braiding of wicker, the creations of terracotta vase, the weaving of textiles and the production of tiles. The project is intended as a starting point for a joint reflection and for a subsequent extension of the proposed implementation.
