WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT – We’re very thrilled to announce the winners of Swiss Original – Handmade creative project, the international call for entries launched on Desall.com in collaboration with Emmentaler AOP.

The competition covered different areas and was open to various creative profiles with the aim to collect, valorise and exhibit artworks that tell stories of Swiss originality. Originality intended in terms of both methods and content that are more specifically and quintessentially “Swiss”, as well as those that are more ironic, interpretative and disruptive.

In particular, there were two macro-categories, Physical works and Digital works, for a total of 4 different project categories:

• Artwork: any artwork that for exhibition purposes has a tangible, physical and three-dimensional presence. The artwork may be produced using any technique, such as for example: Sculpture, Painting, Ceramics, Collage, Origami, Printed Graphic artwork, 3D Printed, Interactive or Reactive Structure (Internet of Things), Organic Structure, Food Artworks… and any Mixed Technique using any material and combination.
• Video: the production of a video story of any kind and produced using any technique, with a duration from 45 seconds to 180 seconds
• Photography: the production of a photo story, with a sequence/composition of from 1 to 9 photographs
• Short Message Story: the production of a short textual story, of max 420 characters including spaces.

The announcement was made during the vernissage of the Swiss Original exhibition, yesterday evening (Nov 12th), at the Overstudio, in Milan, in a very exciting atmosphere enriched by the witty and vivid presentation of the Italian comic/presenter Piero Chiambretti. On the occasion, in addition to the 12 awards already provided for at the launch of the competition, Emmentaler assigned 2 extra awards. Besides 4 extra projects received a Quality Mention and 1 project was acknowledged as the winner of the Community Vote hosted on Desall.com.

Altogether the competition collected 444 applications, across all project categories, submitted by 341 participants from around the world, with Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Spain and Iran in the top 5 countries in terms of number of participants.
